Coastal Management, a La Jolla-based full-service business development agency that specializes in licensing and brand representation, announced a major licensing deal between its client Everyday California® and Cherokee Global Brands (CGB) The deal closed on May 14, 2015.

Everyday California, an adventure and apparel company, also based in La Jolla, retained Coastal Management in 2014 to seek out brand extension opportunities for the fast-growing lifestyle company. Through its extensive partner network, licensing and IP expertise, Coastal Management secured and brokered CGB’s acquisition of Everyday California’s lifestyle brand, on behalf of Everyday California, enabling the company to get to the next level of brand awareness and growth.

As part of the agreement, Everyday California owners and founders Michael Samer and Christopher Lynch retain ownership of their flagship store in La Jolla and the company’s ecommerce store, and will continue to sell men’s and women’s apparel, accessories and footwear through a licensing agreement with CGB. The owners also retain ownership of select non-fashion categories, such as the company’s core adventure business, which includes kayaking and snorkeling tours, board rentals, etc. CBG is adding Everyday California to its portfolio of style-focused lifestyle brands and will seek out new licensee partners for the brand nationally and globally

“Strong brands excel at connecting and engaging with their target customers,” said Paul Leonhardt, managing partner at Coastal Management. “Our goal is to help clients strategically grow their equity and be more successful by finding the right partners and brand extension opportunities. We’re thrilled to see this major partnership between Cherokee Global Brands and Everyday California come to fruition and look forward to working with both companies on strengthening the brand and bringing even more value to customers.”

Everyday California will be formally introduced to the licensing community under the CGB awning this June 9-11, 2015 at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, where Coastal Management will also have a presence. For more info, visit
